Over 65 acres of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier vines in the heart of West Sussex

Sussex Vineyard producing English Sparkling Wine

Outstanding English Vineyard in West Sussex

The vineyard at Tinwood estate is over 65 acres of vines, with the three main Champagne varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier.

Tinwood’s Vineyards are situated in West Sussex at the foot of the South Downs national park.

The South Downs protect the vineyard from the North and East. Most importantly the sea, 5 miles away, keeps much of the frost away early in the season. The farm has a unique micro climate where it is in the rain shadow of the Isle of Wight meaning that our area is one of the sunniest place in the UK (1,902 hours in 2011).

The farm’s soil is particularly stony with a layer of chalk ranging from 2 meters to only half a meter under the surface in places.

We prune and harvest our vineyard all by hand ensuring that the upmost care and  love is taken to produce the best English Sparkling wine.

We run fun wine tasting events that everyone can enjoy. It’s a great day out, enjoying the sun and a glass of bubbles after seeing the vines while walking around the vineyard.
