2025 Harvest Highlights! Earliest start, second-largest yield, and outstanding quality…

Tinwood Estate is proud to announce the successful completion of its 2025 grape harvest. It is the estate’s earliest and one of its most abundant to date.
Harvest began on September 17, marking Tinwood’s earliest start ever, and concluded on October 5, after 19 consecutive days of hard work in the vineyard. The result: a total of 280 tonnes of grapes hand-picked with care – the second largest harvest in Tinwood’s history.
The breakdown of this exceptional crop includes:
- 160 tonnes of Chardonnay
- 68 tonnes of Pinot Noir
- 52 tonnes of Pinot Meunier
This impressive yield is expected to produce approximately 225,000 bottles of award-winning English sparkling wine. Tinwood Estate is partnered with Ridgeview Wine Estate in Ditchling to process their wine.
“This year’s fruit came in with fantastic ripeness and balance,” said Art Tukker, Owner of Tinwood Estate. “We’re thrilled with the quality across all three varieties. It was a relentless 19 days of harvesting – everyone’s tired, but incredibly proud. The wines from this vintage are already showing great promise.”
Despite a few showers and the late arrival of Storm Amy, conditions throughout the growing season were largely favourable. Long, sunny days and warm temperatures helped the grapes reach optimum ripeness. The vineyard team, undeterred by the occasional downpour, worked with energy and precision to bring in the crop.
Trade Joins the Action: Tinwood’s Harvest Experience
This year also saw the return of the Tinwood Harvest Experience. This is a hands-on event inviting independent wine merchants, restaurants, local pub partners, and Tinwood customers to join the harvest team in the vineyard.
Guests spent the morning picking grapes before enjoying a celebratory three-course lunch and a guided tasting of Tinwood’s sparkling wine range.
“The Harvest Experience was a fantastic way to share the excitement and effort of harvest,” said Tukker. “There was a real buzz of camaraderie and shared appreciation for what goes into each bottle.”
Tinwood Estate was even lucky enough to have The Dean of Chichester Cathedral, The Very Reverend Dr Edward Dowler, bless the harvest.
As the grapes begin their transformation in the winery, expectations are high for the 2025 vintage. Early signs point to wines of elegance, freshness, and depth – a reflection of both the exceptional fruit and the dedication of the team behind it.
