Four Ways to Enjoy the Vineyard Kitchen at Tinwood Estate

Over the past two years, the Vineyard Kitchen at Tinwood Estate in Sussex has become a much-loved part of the Tinwood experience. Our unique approach to vineyard dining invites guests to enjoy a relaxed, seasonal menu of small plates—thoughtfully crafted to complement our award-winning English sparkling wines.

Whether you’re joining us for a guided Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting, stopping by for a casual lunch, or unwinding in one of our Luxury Lodges, the Vineyard Kitchen offers fresh, flexible ways to dine in the heart of Sussex wine country.

Here are four wonderful ways to experience it:

1. Dine During Your Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting

One of the most popular ways to enjoy our Vineyard Kitchen is as part of your Vineyard Tour and Wine Tasting. As you sample our sparkling wines, your host will recommend small plates that bring out the best in each glass:

  • Blanc de Blancs with olives and tapenades
  • Estate Brut paired with charcuterie and warm seasonal dishes
  • Rosé alongside local cheeses and sweet treats

There’s no need to pre-book food—choose from our menu on the day to enhance your tasting experience.

2. Pop In for Lunch—No Booking Required

You don’t need to be on a tour to enjoy Tinwood’s wine and food. The Vineyard Kitchen is open daily, and we welcome walk-ins from:

  • 9:00am to 5:30pm (Monday to Thursday)
  • 9:00am to 8:30pm (Friday to Sunday)

Whether you’re catching up with friends over a glass of fizz, enjoying coffee and cake in the sun, or sharing a tapas-style lunch with family, you’re free to explore the estate and unwind at your own pace.

Our menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons, and we offer a wide variety of vegan, dairy-free, and gluten-free options.

3. Picnic in the Vines

Looking for a slower, more scenic experience? Pick up a picnic hamper from the Vineyard Kitchen and head out into the vines for a peaceful alfresco lunch. Inside, you’ll find a handpicked selection of seasonal delights—think local cheeses, vibrant salads, and crusty bread—perfectly paired with a bottle of Tinwood.

There’s no need to book ahead for picnics; just come by, ask to borrow a picnic blanket, and find your perfect picnic spot among the vines. (Top tip: July is National Picnic Month—why not plan your visit then?)

4. Enjoy Vineyard Dining from the Comfort of Your Lodge

If you’re staying overnight in one of our Luxury Vineyard Lodges, you can take the Vineyard Kitchen experience back to your private terrace. Order a selection of small plates and dine with uninterrupted views of the vines—no dress code, no rush, just pure relaxation.

Want something a little more special? Lodge guests can now pre-order a seasonal three-course Dinner Hamper, cooked fresh by our chefs and delivered straight to your door.

And There’s More to Discover…

The Vineyard Kitchen also enhances some of Tinwood’s most exclusive and seasonal events:

  • Sparkling Afternoon Tea Tours – Every Wednesday at 3pm, join a guided tour and tasting alongside a homemade spread of finger sandwiches, warm scones, and indulgent sweet treats.
  • Seasonal Dinner Series – A five-course tasting menu with expertly paired wines, hosted by our chefs throughout the year.
  • Winter Sunday Lunches – A cosy vineyard tradition featuring locally sourced, heart-warming roasts October-April.
