Vineyard Kitchen: Perfect Food Pairings for Tinwood Wine
Our Vineyard Kitchen is open every day, 9:00 – 17:30 for you to stop by and have lunch with a view of the vines. During our wine tastings, you will be encouraged to enjoy a selection of food pairings. All food options are homemade by the Vineyard Chefs, and ingredients are locally sourced. The menu shifts with the seasons and is crafted to pair with Tinwood wine. In this blog, we step inside our Vineyard Kitchen to elaborate on the pairing between food and wine on offer.
Blanc de Blancs Fridge
The first wine poured during the tasting is the Tinwood Blanc de Blancs. Sip 100% Chardonnay which is crisp and refreshing on the palate. The Blanc de Blancs is what we consider a ‘canape’ drink, perfectly served with bread, dips, and olives. On the menu is freshly baked focaccia or baguette to enjoy with homemade sundried tomato, or black olive tapenade. Mackerel pate, or smoked trout, is a popular item, delicious with the citrus notes within the Blanc de Blancs.
Brut Fridge
The next ‘course’ is our Brut. Most like a classic Champagne, thanks to a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Merneuir, our Brut is a celebration drink. On offer in the Vineyard Kitchen is a range of hot food. From homemade sausage rolls with locally sourced meat, to parmesan and truffle arancini, to enjoy with the depth and body of a Tinwood Brut. The chefs have crafted a range of wholesome pasta salads, perfect for warm months. There is also a selection of Italian and Spanish-cured meats to compliment the Brut. Our recommendation is the Teriyaki Chicken. The warmth of the chicken and sweetness of the teriyaki sauce draw out notes of honey in the Brut.
Final Course: Rosé wine for Dessert
A wine tasting would not be complete without cheese or a sweet treat. Tinwood rosé is the perfect partner. We have a selection of cheeses, which come with crackers, grapes, and a little pot of honey. Trust us, cheese and honey are a delicious combination! Our rosé is just like drinking a glass of strawberries and cream. It is smooth, and creamy, and has subtle hints of English summer berries. Chef’s panna cotta or Tinwood Cheesecake is well crafted to match a bottle of pink. Likewise, we have chocolate fudge cake or Chef’s Irresistible Chocolate Mousse to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Coffee and Cake
Available in our Vineyard Kitchen, we also have a range of cakes perfect for a morning catch-up over coffee, or an afternoon treat. Every cupcake, muffin, granola bar and brownie is entirely made in-house. Our hot drink list includes Tea Pigs teas, hot chocolate, and Nespresso coffees. Milk alternatives are available. Sip your coffee in our glass veranda, stylish Tasting Room, or make the most of our gorgeous outside space and views on the decking.
